The B52 is the biggest bombing aircraft in service with the USAF since it was build in the 50ies. It is used as a nuclear bomber, as a conventional strategic bomber, as a tactical low altitude bomber and as a platform for military and civil missiles and experi- mental aircraft (X15).

Developed as a strategic long range bomber for high altitude and speed, the Vulcan was the first Delta wing bomber. It was part of the V-series, the british nuclear defense program of the 1950s.

 
 

Handley Page Victor, United Kingdom, 1957 , Strategic bomber and flying tanker 

 

The Victor was part of the british V-Bomber program which intended to establish the british nuclear force. So the Victor was designed to carry either up to 35 conventional bombs or a Blue Steel nuclear mid range missile. In the 70ies the Victors were converted to flying tankers.

 
 

Hawker Siddeley Vulcan, United Kingdom, 1957 , Strategic Bomber
