The Pup was a typical fighter from the WW I. In 1917
it was replaced with the Camel.

The Snipe was designed to follow the Camel, with it's
good turning abilities but much easier to fly. A few
saw actual service during the war but most of them,
some 497 were in use with the RAF until 1926.

The Camel was developed from the Pub. Firepower,
agility and speed made it a fighter pilot's dream,
but it was not easy to fly. Several unexperienced
pilots crashed with it, so it was developed to the
more stable Snipe.
