North American YF 107, Experimental fighter aircraft

 

 

 

 

1934 - North American O 47 B, Reconnaissance aircraft

 

The O47 was build to replace to older biplane reconnaissane aircraft O19 and O38. The XO47 was the prototype build by General Aviation, a branch of North American Aviation designated the GA15. The Air Corps purchased 147 of them, of which 93 were given to the Air National Guard. Later, another 74 O47B were purchased that had changed engine cowlings. Since the O47 was too large and not agile enough, thez were used as target tugs, coastal reconnaissance and sub hunting.

1939 - North American NA 39, Combat aircraft

 

 

 

 

1940 - North American NA 57, Trainer

 

 

 

 

1940 - North American P 64, Fighter Bomber

 

 

 

 

1941 - North American NA 62, Light fighter aircraft

 

The NA62 was derived from the T6 Texan. In fact. it has got a lot in common with the T6.  

 

 

1941 - North American P 51 D Mustang, Fighter

 

The Mustang was designed as a long range fighter, that should match german fighters. The result was an extraordinary fighter, fast, agile and quite easy to fly. 15576 were build and some were on active duty up to the 60ies.

1945 - North American P 82 Twin Mustang, Long-Range Escort and Nightfighter

 

 

 

 

1950 - North American A 2 / AJ2 Savage, Combat aircraft

 

 

 

 

1951 - North American B 45 Tornado, Bomber

 

 

 

 

1954 - North American F 86 Sabre, Fighter

 

 

 

 

1955 - North American F 1 / FJ 2 Fury, Carrier based fighter

 

 

 

 

1956 - North American F 100 Super Sabre, Fighter bomber

 

 

 

 

1958 - North American A5 / A3J Vigilante, Carrier based bomber

 

 

 

 

1961 - North American T 28 A Trojan, Trainer and light attack aircraft

 

 

 

 

1962 - North American X 15, High speed experimental aircraft

 

 

 

 

1964 - North American B 70 Valkyrie, Prototype strategic supersonic bomber

 

 

 

 

1965 - North American OV 10 A Bronco, Ground attck and target display aircraft

 

The Bronco was designed as a simple but most effective aircraft fpr tactical ground support in the Viet Nam war, which could be operated from the most simple airfields.  

 

 

1968 - North American Rockwell T 2 Buckeye, Carrier based trainer
