1969 - Hawker Siddeley Harrier G.R. Mk. 1, Fighter bomber with vtol/stol capabilities

 

The Harrier is the first vtol attack plane that saw service. It was derived from the P 1127 Kestrel and developed to a family of fighter aircraft. The combi- nation of an agile fighter and vtol capabilites made the Harrier an extremely dangerous enemy.

1974 - Hawker Siddeley / BAe Hawk, Advanced trainer and light fighter bomber

 

The Hawk is designed for advanced flight and weapons training, but can be uses as a light fighter bomber as well. Hawks are in service with the RAF and in many other contries. On airshows Hawks may be seen with the Red Arrows, the RAF aerobatics team.
