Fieseler Fi 156 Storch,
Reconnaissance and liason airplane

In 1935 the RLM called for a light STOL aircraft.
Fieseler won the contest with the Fi156 against Focke
Wulf, Siebel and Messerschmitt. Fi156 were build and
in use in many countries up to the 50ies. Even today
it's destinctive silhouette can be seen on major
airshows.

Fieseler FI 103 V1 / Reichenberg,
Flying bomb
|
|
The V1 was an unmanned aircraft, controlled by an
automatic system, armed with a warhead. Its purpose
was to attack targets in large numbers and demora-
lize civilians.
It was the "grandfather" of the cruise missiles
of today.
