1948 - Cessna C 172 Skyhawk, Sports and travelling light aircraft

 

The C172 ist most used small aircraft in the world (beside the Polikarpov U2). It is reliable, easy to fly and is build only with smaller modifications for more than 40 years.

1951 - Cessna C 150, Sports and Training airplane

 

 

 

 

1951 - Cessna OH 1 (L 19 A) Bird Dog, Observation Airplane

 

The Bird Dog was in use as a low'n slow target marker tu guide the fast fighter bombers to their targets over the jungles of Viet Nam. Those quite dangerous missions were flown mostly by fighter bomber pilots.  

 

 

1955 - Cessna A 37 Dragonfly, Light Attack Aircraft, Ground Support Role

 

The A37 was developed from the T37 Trainer. The T37 was the standard jet trainer form the 50ies to the 70ies. The A 37 saw combat in Viet Nam.  

 

 

1961 - Cessna 337 Super Skymaster, General aviation aircraft, observation aircraft

 

The Skymaster, known as "Push'n'Pull" too, was desig- ned for the general aviation twin market. By its con- figuration (push- and pull drives) it was economical and reliable. Even with one engine shut down, it was easy to fly. In Viet Nam the O2A was used as an observation aircraft.

The Conquest is the first turboprop aircraft by Cessna to fill in the gap between the jet of the Citation series and the piston engine equipped Cessnas.
