[Technical Data] [Expo/Images] - [

[
Fighter 1919-1938]
|
|
Description: |

The P36 was developed from the Curtiss "Hawk"
Model 75. The production for the US Army Air
Corps began in 1938. Altogether some 243 were
taken over, including 30 that were originally
produced for Norway but not delivered. Great
Britain and France had Hawks in front line
service in 1940, even them being inferior to
the german Messerschmitt Bf 109 E. Later, te
remaining P36 were delivered to other
countries. The P36 was the predecessor of the
famous P40.
