Curtiss C 46 Commando
 

Derived from the CW20 design. The C46 came
into service with the USAF from July 1942.
In total, US forces accepted 3144 C46, but
other countries had it in service, too.
Commandos became famous for covering
transport tasks in southeast asia. The C46
had a better performance than the famous C47
Dakota, but it was difficult to maintain and
had a relatively high loss rate.
