Messerschmitt ME 163 Komet
 

The Komet, known as "Kraftei" (power egg), was build
as a rocket driven short range interceptor against
allied bombers. It was the first aircraft that was
build in an industrial scale, that was driven by a
rocket engine and the first one to reach the 1000km/h
mark (540kts).
