Calendar 2004

Your calendar for the year 2004. Put the images on your computer desktop or just print it and put it on the wall (or to your cubicle - Avibert). A dozen of the most interesting motives from the virtual aviation museum. This year all images do show interesting details, each representing a milestone in aviation.

January 2006 - Aerobatic Teams

Aerobatic teams are the highlights of any air show. The small agile aircraft draw colorful trails of smoke into the sky as they fly the most incredible figures.

February 2006 - Fouga Magister

The Fouga Magister is a training aircraft. It came into service in the 50ies in some countries including France, Belgium, Germany and Israel and some are still in service. This Magister here is flying the tradition livery of the Belgian air force.

March 2006 - Supper Conie approaching

The Super Constellation from Lockheed is one of the last intercontinental airliners driven by piston engines. It is one of the most elegant aircraft that ever took to the skies. This one here is at home at Zurich, Switzerland, and pays a visit to the Hahnweide Air Show near Stuttgart.

April 2006 - Training glider "Hol's der Teufel"

This is a nice example for those training glider brave airmen learned their art with. In the 30ies this kind of flying machines were built - some plywood, fabric, lackier, glue and steel wire. But actually you could fly with such a thing, as is proven in this picture. (Hahnweide 2005)

May 2006 - Texan Aerobatics

The T-6 Texan is a trainer from the 40ies, but it was well in service until zthe 60ies. There's a saying, one who masters the Texan is able to fly everything. Today, T-6 are well seen guests on air shows, here in a impressive performance by father and son Eichhorn. (Hahnweide 2005)

June 2006 - Bell 412 SAR

Rescue helicopters are displaying their art of flighying regularly on air shows. This is a dutch Bell 412 SAR helicopter, visiting it's neighbours at the Sanicole Air Show in Belgium.

July 2006 - Red Arrows Hawk

The aerobatic teams usually fly small agile trainers like this Hawk of the Red Arrows flying low-level. So, being stuck in a giant The traffic jam in front of the Zeltweg Airpower 2005 had at least one good aspect: Normally, a visitor is not in the approach sectors, so I had the opportunity for at least one good "shot".

August 2006 - 5 Ju52 flying together

The Ju52 (Aunt Ju) was the most well known passenger aircraft of the 30ies. Germany, France, Spain, Russia, Asutralia, South Africa, USA.... These are just a few countries that did build up their passenger air service with those aircraft. Today, only 7 airworthy examples exist, 5 of them where together at Hahnweide 2005.

September 2006 - Messerschmitt 109 G

Warbirds - old military aircraft - are one of the highlights of every air show. 60 years old, with roaring powerful engines, they bring this silly grin on the face of true fans for days. Here, a Me 109 G, a german fighter plane of the 2. WW, taxis to the runway during Hahnweide 2005 air show.

October 2006 - Lancaster

The Avro Lancaster is a british strategic bomber of the 2nd world war. Only very few are existing today and just 2 of them are still airworthy. Here's a view on this seldom spectacle, as it zooms by with the sonor hum of it's 4 Rolls Royce Merlin engines. Seen at KLu Open Dagen at Gilze Rijen 2005.

November 2006 - Airbus A 380-800 #1

2005 was a very special year to the civil air traffic: The Mega-Airliner Airbus A 380 made it's maiden flight and, short after, was on display at the Paris Air Show. This picture illustrates well the gigantic wings of this huge aircraft.

December 2006 - The Red Arrows

Ready to fly - into the new year! Here, the Red Arrows - one of the best aerobatic teams in the world - are on their way. www.luftfahrtmuseum.com whishes a successful year 2006 to you, including a lot of interesting aviation events.
