In this part of the virtual aviation Museum we present a selection of the fines aircraft images by categories. If you click on the mini-picture the original picture will be displayed in a new window. Most of the images shown here are available as enlarged prints or slides, too. Please refer to the "shop" section for more details.

Calendar 2003

Your calendar for the year 2003. Put the images on your computer desktop or just print it and put it on the wall (or to your cubicle - Avibert). 12 of the most interesting motives from the virtual aviation museum. This year all images do show impressions from the last 80 years of aerial transport. By the way: December, 17th is the centennial of the flight of the Wright brothers.

Old Timer and Classic Planes

These are those little aircraft every little boy is dreaming of: Monoplane or biplane, a propeller and those classical lines. Those aircraft have been designed and build in the aera between the wars and have survived the times with the dedication of their owners.

Warbirds - old military aircraft

Sight and sound of old warbirds let adult men grin like little boys that just have met their favourite soccer player. Here's a collection of some of my best warbird images - and all of them are still flying!

Jets - modern military aircraft

Everybody knows combat jets like the Starfighter or the Falcon. Here are some of the most impressive photos of these powerful and elegant aircraft.

Airliner and other large aircraft

In this category you'll find the "real" aircraft: High 'n heavy, flying so high you can them bareley see, heading their contrail up in the blue sky. Nearly everybody did fly in such a bird. Here we show some other perspectives of them.

Special aircraft

A very special position in the world of aviation do have the special aircraft, highly specialized designs like fire fighters and crop duster. They do handle tasks that don't seem possible to accomplish for aircraft.

Helicopter

Helicopters fascinate. They can stand still in the sky, start land at every place. This not so old invention has taken over some important functions: Rescue, flying crane, or flying just for fun.

Airshow Pictorial

Here are some pictorials of some of the best airshows of the recent years. Many of these events are scheduled every year odr - in change with another event - every other year. Whoever do like aircraft in one way or another should visit such a show. To figure out if there's one near your place check out our Airshow Calendar.

Meeting Aérien La Ferté Alais

La Ferté is a small place and an aerodrome in the vincinity of the small city of Cerny, some 30km south of Paris. And it is the home of the Collection Jean Salis. Once a year, at the Whitsunday weekend, a great airshow is organized, which shows aircraft static and in flight from a Louis Blériot's days up to recent types. It's everytime a great fun to be there.

ILA Berlin

The ILA (Internationale Luftfahrt-Ausstellung) has one of the oldest traditions. It started originally at Berlin Johannesthal, then moved to Hannover and finally came back to Berlin-Schönefeld. It is one of the major trade fairs of the Aerospace Industry, but it still has got a kind of "cozy" character, so it is everytime a great joy to join.

AirVenture / Oshkosh

Oshkosh is THE ultimate airshow on the world. Oshkosh is simply the name of the town and the airport, where the EAA AirVenture and convention takes place. The airport is the home of the EAA - Experimental Aircraft Association - and therefore houses this event. The AirVenture is held once a year around August. Some 15.000 (in words: fifteen thousand) aircraft participate and may be a million spectators. Aircraft of all categories, and if you ever wanted to take a seat in a B25 Michell's Cockpit, this is the way to do fill your dreams.

Aérosalon du Paris / Le Bourget

The Aérosalon is the Aerospace trade fair of the Grande Nation. So the majority of the show is french, but other nations do have their share, too. This is the place to study latest Russian aerospace technology outside of Russia. The show is every other year, alternating with the ILA Berlin.

Hahn in Motion

This is a classical airshow which is held every year at the airport Frankfurt-Hahn, which is know to the commuity as the former Hahn US Air Force Base. The management tries to show something very special on each show and here's very often the opportunity to get a flight in a Warbird like the T28 Trojan or the british Jet Provost.

NATO Tiger Meet

The NATO Tiger Meet is a normal military exercise, but all the units participating have flown the F 5 Tiger (that's where the name comes from) or have any kind of predator in their sign or name. Special is, that nearly each unit sends a bird in special colors so there's quite often rare pieces of real flying artwork to be seen. One day is usually designated the "Spotter's day", so "normal" beings can enjoy the breathtaking aircraft, too.
